Why Families Choose Seri Pusaka

Each engagement is shaped around the family — not the file.

Written Summaries After Every Meeting

Every consultation concludes with a written record of what was discussed, in clear language that family members can read and share at their own pace.

No Pressure to Proceed Quickly

Arrangements are paced to allow for family discussions between stages. There is no expectation that decisions will be made at a first meeting.

Fluent in Both Will and Wasiat Frameworks

We work with both civil and Islamic estate instruments, and can help families understand the implications of each path for their particular circumstances.

Attentive to Multi-Generational Arrangements

The Generational Estate Programme is specifically shaped for families whose assets and intentions span more than one generation — a less common offering in the local market.

Estate Maps That Clarify Before Decisions

We prepare written estate maps that lay out each asset and the considerations that apply before any document is drafted — helping families see the full picture before committing to a path.

Handled with Discretion Throughout

Family estate matters involve private information. We conduct all engagements with the care and discretion that such matters require, and maintain strict confidentiality throughout.

Is it time to put certain matters in writing?

A first consultation at Seri Pusaka is a conversation, not a commitment. We will listen, prepare a written summary, and leave the next steps entirely in your hands.

Frequently Asked Questions

Matters that families often raise before a first meeting.

What happens at the Heritage Consultation?

The consultation begins with a review of any documents you share beforehand. We then have an unhurried conversation covering the matters you wish to raise. Afterwards, we prepare a written summary that you can share with other family members. There is no expectation that you will engage us for anything further.

Can Seri Pusaka assist with both a civil will and a wasiat?

Yes. We work with both frameworks and can discuss the implications of each for your particular family circumstances. Some families find that a combination of instruments best reflects their intentions; we are able to assist with that discussion.

How long does Will and Wasiat Drafting take?

The engagement is deliberately paced. A first draft is typically prepared within two to three weeks of the initial discussion. We then allow time for you to review the document with your family before returning with any comments or revisions. Most engagements conclude within six to eight weeks.

What is included in the written estate map?

The estate map identifies each asset held by the family and sets out the considerations that apply to each — including ownership structure, any existing instruments, and the questions that will need to be resolved before arrangements can be finalised. It is a working document, not a legal instrument in itself, and is intended to support clear family discussion.

How are the quarterly checkpoints structured in the Generational Estate Programme?

Each checkpoint is conducted as a written briefing. We summarise progress to date, note any outstanding matters, and indicate what the next phase involves. Family members are encouraged to raise questions in writing between checkpoints, and we respond in kind. Meeting in person is always available but is not required at each stage.

Is everything kept confidential?

Yes. All matters discussed and all documents prepared are treated with the same standards of professional legal confidentiality that apply to any solicitor-client relationship. We do not discuss client matters outside the engagement, and all documents are stored securely.

What should I bring or send before the first consultation?

A brief note about what you are hoping to address is sufficient. If you have existing documents — a previous will, property titles, or a record of business interests — you are welcome to share these in advance so that we can prepare. Nothing is required, however, and some families prefer simply to begin with a conversation before sharing documents.
